I Know the Score – Week 7 Result

September 29, 2009

Week 7: 30 points.
Total: 540 points.

My worst week yet in I Know the Score . . . the horror, the horror.

In 7 of the 10 matches this weekend I didn’t lose points so a -20 in one game really hurt me. The big upset of the weekend was my biggest loser so far this season. Wigan’s 3-1 win against Chelsea cost me 20 points! I had Chelsea winning 3-1 and I compounded my mistake by making it my Banker selection of the week so the -10 points was doubled to -20 points. Oh well, it only a game.

Check back Friday to see my picks for week 8 of I Know the Score.

I Know the Score – Week 7

September 25, 2009

Last Week; 90 points.
Total: 510 points.

No matches involving big rivals or the big four (or even five or six) but there is a London derby.

Arsenal travel across London to face Fulham, I expect the Gunners to win easily as they’re getting Arshavin and Walcott back. Liverpool should have another easy game at Anfiled against Hull City who will have trouble avoiding relegation this season. Man Utd travel to play newly promoted Stoke City so the Red Devils should also win easily. Chelsea also travel this weekend, the Blues play Wigan who have earned just six points so far this season. I expect Chelsea to win as well.

Check back next week to see how I did.

I Know the Score – Week 6 Result

September 22, 2009

Week: 90 points.
Total: 510 points.

After just 65 points last week I’m back to a respectable 90 points this week.

My big point earner of the week was the Aston Villa 3-1 Portsmouth match, I correctly predicted the goal difference and it was my Banker pick which in this case tripled the normal 15 points to 45 points.

Whew, that was close! Michael Owens’ last minute goal for Man Utd against their rival Man City garnered me 15 points. If the match had ended in a draw then I would have lost 10 points.

Check back Friday for my latest I Know the Score predictions.

I Know the Score – Week 6

September 18, 2009

Last Week: 65 points.
Total: 420 points.

Manchester derby and London derby this weekend and each match will have a victor.

Manchester United will prevail over Manchester City who are without several strikers. Down in London Chelsea will win over Totenham Hotspurs but Liverpool will struggle in London and draw with West Ham while Arsenal will get back to winning against Wigan.

I Know the Score – Week 5 Result

September 15, 2009

Week: 65 points.
Total: 420 points.

Not my best week but I’ll take it.

After several weeks of earning over 100 points this week I managed to get just 65 points. The only correct result that I got this week was the Spurs 1-3 Man Utd. match and I didn’t double it so those 30 points were the most for a single game this week.

Check back Friday for my Week 6 picks.

I Know the Score – Week 5

September 11, 2009

Last Week: 105 points.
Total: 355 points.

The Premier League is back this weekend after last weekend’s international break.

I’m picking Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Wigan, Man Utd., and Aston Villa to win. Hmm, six matches out of ten with an out-right winner, that might be a bit much but we’ll see. Of those ‘winners’ the least likely to win is Arsenal who travel to face Manchester City. What can I say? I like Arsenal but they have also played well this season.

I Know the Score – Week 4 Result

September 1, 2009

Week 4: 105 points.
Total: 355 points.

Another 105 points! And I didn’t think that I would do well this week.

I could of had another 40 points but Everton decided to get a late goal for the winner thus ruining my prediction of a 1-1 draw. As it was Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Burnley was my big point earner of the week, I picked the score correctly and doubled it for 60 points. I also correctly predicted the Wolves-Hull City draw.

There are no games this weekend so check back next week for my predictions.
