The Premier League is taking a break this weekend for international play so I figured it would be a good time to take a look at the Football League Championship.
Each of the twenty-four teams have played ten games (thirty points max possible). At the end of the season, the top two sides will be promoted to the Premier League. Teams in third place to sixth place have a play-off to decide the third team to be promoted. The three teams at the bottom of the standings will be relegated to League 1.
Random Ramblings
Cardiff City – sure, why not a Welsh club in the Premier League?
It would be nice to have Birmingham or West Brom back in the Premier League to give Aston Villa a local rival.
Crystal Palace – a yo-yo club, let them wait here for Brighton & Hove Albion to win promotion to the Championship to re-new their rivalry.
Ipswich Town – I’ve watched a few of their matches and they seem to be a decent side. I wouldn’t mind seeing them in the Premier League.
Sunderland – sat in the relegation zone until Roy Keane took over. Was that just a coincidence?
Queens Park Rangers – any Championship club with a US supporters club cannot be all bad.
Leeds United – they just seem to belong in the Premier League. What’s taking them so long to get back?
